[ARCHIVED] Orleans Citizen’s Police Academy: Applications Now Being Accepted

The Orleans Citizen’s Police Academy offers residents a behind-the-scenes look at modern policing in Orleans - from officer training to day-to-day decision-making in the field. The program is designed to be informative, interactive, and engaging, giving participants the opportunity to learn, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of the work done every day to serve the community.

Program details:

  • Applications must be submitted by Friday, January 23, 2026
  • The first class is tentatively scheduled for Monday, February 2 at 6pm. Each class runs about 2-2.5 hours.
  • Classes will be held over nine consecutive Mondays, concluding with graduation

How to apply:
Completed applications may be dropped off at the Orleans Police Department or emailed to pcronin@orleanspd.com, attention Sergeant Patrick Cronin.

Eligibility requirements:
Participants must:

  • Be at least 21 years of age at the time of application
  • Have no felony criminal history
  • Have no misdemeanor criminal history within the past two years
  • Successfully pass a background check and suitability review

Participation is subject to approval by the Orleans Police Department. Class size is limited to 30 participants per session.
