FY2023 CLASSIFICATION HEARING

The Orleans Select Board will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at 5:30pm in the Nauset Meeting Room of the Orleans Town Hall in accordance with Chapter 369 of the Acts of 1982, amending Chapter 797 of the Acts of 1979, regarding allocating the local property tax levy among the five property classes for Fiscal Year 2023.

The Orleans Board of Assessors will provide all information and data relevant to making a final determination on allocations of the tax burden among the four classes of real property: residential, open space, commercial, and industrial and one class of personal property as set forth in MA General Laws, Chapter 40, Sec. 56. Options open to the Town will be provided and the Chairperson will recognize any taxpayers wishing to present oral or written information on their views. If you are unable to attend and wish to express your views in writing, they should be received in the Select Board's office, 19 School Road, Orleans, MA, 02653 on or before noon on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

The Fiscal Year 2022 tax rate is $7.20 per $1,000 of assessed value.
